Abortion providing GPs are making an annual average of an extra €20,000 on top of their regular income. And it’s all being subsidised by you, the taxpayer.

New information released in reply to a Parliamentary Question submitted by Independent Ireland leader Michael Collins TD shows that in the first five months of 2025, an average of just under 250 GPs are receiving an average overall total of €430,000 each month just for doling out abortion pills.

With telemedicine abortion now sanctioned by the Government, a GP doesn’t even need to have a consultation with the woman – a “second phone call with no content” will suffice, according to one prominent activist and GP.

If complications arise, the GP can say it’s someone else’s problem and refer her to a hospital.

Being an abortion provider demands little work, no consequences (for the GP anyway), and no overheads (as they don’t have to pay for the mifepristone and misoprostol pills).

Well in excess of €50 million in taxpayers’ money has been spent on abortion provision in Ireland since the new law took effect in January 2019.

The scandals emerging on a daily basis regarding Ireland’s new life-ending regime are going to hasten the day when change happens and a renewed respect for the preciousness of each and every human life takes hold.

While it’s deeply upsetting learning about all the terrible things that are happening – including doctors profiting from innocent human lives being ended, it is much better that we keep unearthing the truth and bringing it to light rather than keep it hidden from view as abortion providers would like. As the saying goes – and it’s true – sunlight is the best disinfectant.
