A Baltimore man has been found guilty on charges of assault and reckless endangerment for a violent attack on two pro-life volunteers outside a Planned Parenthood facility – an attack that left one victim hospitalised with severe injuries.
Live Action reports that the man, Patrick Brice, confronted the pro-life volunteers outside the Planned Parenthood facility on North Howard Street in Baltimore, where they and others had gathered to pray peacefully for the lives of unborn babies.
Witnesses claim the attack was unprovoked, with Brice becoming increasingly aggressive before assaulting one of the pro-life volunteers, knocking him unconscious.
Brice then turned his violence on another pro-life volunteer – shoving him to the ground and repeatedly punching him in the face. Reports on the incident also claim that several Planned Parenthood escorts stood nearby and did nothing to stop the attack.
One of the pro-life volunteers attacked had to be rushed to hospital, where doctors treated him for a shattered cheekbone, a broken orbital bone, temporary blindness in one eye, and severe head trauma.
Brice was found guilty of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He is scheduled for sentencing on March 20.
