Delgany woman Miriam Beattie was the recipient of the “Pro Life Campaign Person of the Year” award at the organisation’s annual National Conference which took place in the RDS on Saturday, 8th October.

The award, which was presented for the first time in 2014, was created to recognise a unique and substantial contribution to the spreading of the pro-life message in Ireland.

Speaking before the presentation, PLC spokesperson Eilis Mulroy said:

“It is very important for the Pro Life Campaign to recognise the work of our volunteers all around the country.  Without them, we simply could not continue to do our work in protecting the most vulnerable members of society.  Miriam is somebody who has worked tirelessly for many years, helping to reach out to pro-life supporters from all walks of life. We are delighted to announce her as the recipient of this year’s award.”

Reacting to the award, Ms. Beattie said that she was “proud to be part of the Pro Life Campaign.”  She described the award as a “privilege and honour” and something that she will always treasure.
