International Advocacy

The Pro Life campaign has defended Ireland’s constitutional protection for unborn children at the highest level of European and International politics. We regularly engage with international political institutions to advocate on issues related to the right to life.

Some of the advocacy in recency years has included attending and making representations at the following events:

February 2017 – Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), Geneva Switzerland. Attended by Sinead Slattery.

May 2016 – Universal Periodic Review into Ireland by UN Human Rights Committee, Geneva, Switzerland. Attended by Cora Sherlock.

July 2015 – General Discussion on Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Geneva, Switzerland. Attended by Cora Sherlock.

June 2015 – 55th Session of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR), Geneva, Switzerland. Attended by Lorcan Price.

October 2011 – Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review, 12th Session, Geneva, SwitzerlandAttended by Caroline Simons.
