Unite For Life pro-life vigil attracts thousands

7th December 2012

With less than a weeks notice, thousands of pro-life supporters gathered in Dublin last Tuesday for the Unite For Life pro-life vigil outside the Dáil.

The formal collaboration among all the pro-life groups and the vast crowd who packed Molesworth Street sent an incredibly powerful message to An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to honour his pre-election pro-life commitment not to introduce abortion legislation.

The fact that the streets outside the Dáil were crowded shows the passion, seriousness of intent and commitment of a united pro-life movement.

The vast numbers at the vigil – held in the afternoon mid-week – shows the determination of the pro-life movement not to allow the those advocating for abortion to hijack the debate by clouding the distinction between necessary medical treatments for women in pregnancy and direct abortion, the intention of which is to end the life of the child.

Together we will use our energy, enthusiasm and compassion to ensure that mothers in pregnancy and unborn babies continue to be protected in law.

Thanks to all those who made the trip to Dublin this week and who continue to work to make Ireland a safe country for mothers and unborn children.
